It’s true. Volunteering takes action, commitment, time and energy. As a volunteer at Hammer, your busy schedule and time commitment is always valued. That’s why we make it easy to get started and we support you every step of the way. We welcome you as partners in fulfilling Hammer’s mission: providing adults and children with developmental disabilities the opportunity to experience life to its fullest.

Getting Started:

  1. Begin by filling out the application and returning it to Hammer.
  2. A volunteer resources staff member will be in touch with you to discuss your interests and availability.
  3. Join us for a volunteer orientation which includes a background check, brief introduction to our mission and history, policies and training.
  4. Depending on your interests, you may also meet with a staff member about specific projects.
  5. Then, start volunteering!

It’s that easy! We offer many opportunities - days, evenings and weekends - in our homes, at our special events and in our corporate office.
