All of our volunteers are important to us, whether you donate an hour a month or a couple of hours each week. In 2008, we had over 450 active volunteers donate over 12,000 hours of time. In an effort to recognize some of our most committed volunteers, we have created two Volunteer Recognition Societies:

Community Partner Awards:
The Community Partner Award is given to outstanding volunteers, donors and businesses that further Hammer’s mission. Hammer’s staff and residents nominate potential recipients. This year, two outstanding individuals and one family were chosen to receive Hammer’s Community Partner Award.
Yvonne Bryan
has been volunteering with Hammer twice a week since March 2002. She has given more than 1500 hours of service to Hammer, saving us over $30,000. Yvonne assists the finance department with data entry and grocery coding. She is an invaluable addition to our finance department and we are immeasurably grateful to Yvonne for all she does!
The
Koltes family
has been an integral part of the Hammer family for over 25 years. In fact, just in the past eight years since we at Hammer have actually kept track of volunteer hours, the Koltes family has given time valued at over $22,280. Collectively the Koltes family has contributed over 78 years of volunteer service to Hammer. Over the years, the family has lovingly contributed their time to: Adopt-a-Home, our annual family picnic, making greeting cards, various administrative work, advocacy efforts, our Thanksgiving event, and the annual meeting. Presidential Awards to our Hammer Volunteers
Each year, volunteers who have donated a set amount of hours, is recommended for a Presidential Award. Volunteers can receive a bronze award for 100 hours of service, silver for 250 hours of service, or gold for 500 or more hours of service.
