Family, extended.
Hammer & NER’s mission is to provide people with intellectual and other disabilities the opportunity to live life to its fullest. We fulfill our mission daily by helping the people we support live meaningful and self-directed lives. In partnership with you, we will continue to open doors and unlock possibilities for the people we serve in our homes, apartments, and with our case management and care coordination services.

Give
Our extended family of donors make a world of difference in the quality of life we can provide the people we serve. Your gift of support stays right here in our community.
Volunteer
Many of the people we serve would love a friend to take a walk with, bake cookies, get a pedicure, or share a love of reading. An hour here and there can make a BIG difference in someone’s life.
Advocate
Our easy-to-use Advocacy Alert portal helps you email local legislators to encourage them to act on issues important to people with disabilities and those who care for them.
Supporting People in Homes & Apartments
Hammer & NER have provided housing and supportive services to people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities for a combined 150 years. We are proud of this legacy and remain committed to living out our mission to providing the people we serve the opportunity to live life to its fullest.

Walking Side by Side Through the Seasons of Change
Spring Appeal: Many people who live in our apartment programs and are used to living more independently are now “dancing a bit slower” as they age. When their health needs become more complex, the reality is that they will need to move to a group home where they can receive a higher level of care including assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility from trained professionals who can care for their medical needs, too.
Disability Services Day at the Capitol
We had a GREAT day during Disability Services Day at the Capitol on Tuesday. About 100 people from Hammer & NER were in attendance including those we support, their staff, family members, Board members, and volunteers. We really know how to represent!
Showcasing Our Homes–Lakeside
Each of our Hammer & NER homes is unique because of the people who live and work there. The “Showcasing Our Homes” profiles celebrate our homes (and apartment programs), the people who live there, and the staff who support them. Let’s learn about the Lakeside home in Minnetonka! The Lakeside home is staffed by Program Manager Emma Handeland and Direct Support Professionals Christine Tokpah and Huda Jama.
